Covid Vaccine FAQs

What if I have had COVID-19?

Even if you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past, it is still beneficial to get the vaccine. If you have tested positive for COVID in the past 90 days, you will have to wait until the 90 days from the day you tested positive before you can get the vaccine. If you received antibody therapy for COVID-19, you must wait 90 days from the day you received the infusion before you can get the vaccine.

Who is eligible for the vaccine?

We have the Moderna vaccine. Currently anyone 18 or older is eligible for the Moderna vaccine. We are currently following the guidelines given to us by the Dallas County Iowa Department of Public Health to determine who is eligible for the vaccine, as well as priority of who gets the vaccine.

Do I need to be a member of Exemplar Care to get a COVID-19 vaccine from you?

No! We are partnering with the Dallas County Department of Public Health to administer the COVID-19 Vaccine to the public.

What if I’m interested in becoming a member?

Fill out our contact form or give us a call at 515-650-4370. Exemplar Care members enjoy access to Central Iowa’s only 24-hour urgent care clinic, outpatient extended stay services and a full suite of behavioral health services, in addition to unlimited and timely access to their primary care provider. All Exemplar Care services and team members work collaboratively for you in a whole-person approach, and we would love to hear from you!

I was told to bring insurance, why?

Administering the vaccine to hundreds of people is very labour intensive. Because of this, we will try to recuperate some of our costs by billing insurance. If your insurance does not cover it or you do not have insurance, you will not be billed.

What if I can get the vaccine from someone else?

You are welcome to keep your appointment with us or if you choose to use another healthcare provider, please call us as soon as you commit so that we may take you off our schedule. There are many people in need of the vaccine!

When will my second dose be?

We will schedule your second dose on the day that we administer your first dose.

I have family that would like to come, can they?

Family and friends are welcome to come and wait in the car while you receive your vaccination, it will only take about 15-20 minutes.

We offer healthcare when you need it.
